City Cup Pool Play Information
Advancement During Divisional Play:
- Division with four (4) teams (one (1) group of four (4) teams)
- Each team play 3 preliminary round matches, 2 on Saturday, one Sunday morning
- After the conclusion of the preliminary round matches all teams will be ranked with the top 2 ranked teams advancing to the Championship game
- Division with five (5) teams (one (1) group of five (5) teams)
- Each team will play 2 games on Saturday and 2 games on Sunday.
- After the 4 games the team with the most game points will be the champion.
- The team with the second highest game points will be the finalist.
- Division with six (6) teams (two (2) groups of three (3) teams)
- Each team will play two preliminary round matches on Saturday.
- At the end of the preliminary rounds, each team will be ranked in their playing group based on the number of points earned from their wins and ties. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-final round. Winner of group A plays 2nd place in-group B. Winner of group B plays 2nd place in-group A. The third place teams will play a consolation match. Winners of the semi’s play for the championship.
- Division with (7) teams will have a group of (3) and a group of (4)
- The group of 3 will play two preliminary round matches on Saturday. At the end of the preliminary rounds, each team will be ranked in their playing group based on the number of points earned from their wins and ties. The top team will play for the championship against the winner of the second bracket. The second and third place team will play against each other for a consolation game on Sunday.
- The group of 4 will play three preliminary round matches, 2 on Saturday and one on Sunday. At the end of the preliminary rounds, each team will be ranked in their playing group based on the number of points earned from their wins and ties. The top team will advance to a final match to play the winner of the group of three.
- Division with eight (8) teams (two (2) groups of four (4) teams
- Each team will play three preliminary round matches, 2 on Saturday and one on Sunday.
- At the end of the preliminary rounds, each team will be ranked in their playing group based on the number of points earned from their wins and ties. The top team from each group will advance to a final match.
